Free Pattern for Knit Baby UGG Booties

Sizes: Newborn-3 month
Pair US 5 straight needles
Yarn: 1 ball DK yarn

Cuff of baby booties ugg

Cast on 34 sts loosely (32+2 edge stitches).
Work ribbing
1 Row: Slip first (edge stitch), *P2, K2*-repeat to end, last stitch purl (edge stitch)
Note: henceforth I will not mention the edge stitches; you always knit Slip first and purl last stitch.
2 Row: *P2, K2* Repeat from *'s to end
3-14 Row: repeat rows 1-2
15 Row: Eyelet row: *K1, K2tog, YO, P1*. Repeat from *'s to end.
16 Row: *P2, K2* Repeat from *'s to end

Instep:

17 Row (right side): Knit 22 sts
turn and continue to knit on 10 sts in the middle
18 Row: purl 10
19 Row: knit 10
20 Row: purl 10
21- 28 Rows: repeat rows 19-20
Break yarn, leaving a 2 inch tail.

Edge off baby booties ugg

29 Row (right side): You have on the right needle 12 sts, pick up 7 sts on right lateral of instep, pick up 10 sts off medley , pick up 7 sts on left lateral of instep and you have on the left needle 12 sts- total 48 sts
30 Row: join yarn and knit to end
31 -36 Row: knit
Break yarn, leaving a 14 inch tail.

Sole:

Slip next 21 sts. (onto spare needle). Do not knit these sts.
We will work on middle 6 stitches.
Explanation: when you are
Knitting the stitches for the sole you knit the last stitch together with
one from the side. Then you turn and knit the other side, and p2tog
from the other side.
You work this way down .
37 Row (right side): k4, k3tog, turn
38 Row: p4, p3tog, turn
39 Row (right side): k4, k2tog, turn
40 Row: p4, p2tog, turn= 42st

  Finishing of baby booties ugg:

Divide stitches over 2 needles. With right sides together, use kitchener stitch or 3 needle bind off to close up sole.

Very cute pattern. But I am confused. In the written part is states...straight needles BUT the pictures shows a circular needle. Which are the correct needles to use? Thanks.

Circular needles are used here as
straight needles.
